Spark, the volunteer service for South Somerset, Mendip and Sedgemoor, has produced a Volunteers’ Week video campaign in celebration of the the great work being done by volunteers across Somerset.
The videos, featuring volunteers, service users, and staff from organisations across Somerset, showcase the fantastic contribution made by volunteers across our county. They also aim to encourage people to consider getting involved, by highlighting the huge personal benefits that can be achieved through volunteering.
This year’s theme for National Volunteers’ Week centres around ‘Volunteering for all – a celebration of the huge range of people who give time in so many ways.’
It’s the perfect opportunity for Somerset’s VCSE sector to celebrate, and say a big thank you to those who give up their time, energy and skills to help others. From trustees and campaigners, to carers and tin-shakers, this is a great time to think about the great contribution all your volunteers make, and how to celebrate people from every walk of life who are getting involved.
Spark supports the voluntary sector in South Somerset, Mendip and Sedgemoor. This year, they have produced a special video campaign to celebrate the power of volunteering, and the great work being done by volunteers across the county. They will be sharing this via their social media channels throughout Volunteers’ Week, so check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
Engage supports the voluntary sector in Taunton and West Somerset, and will once again hold their popular Star Volunteer Awards during Volunteers Week. They have invited voluntary organisations and the members of the public to nominate the people and groups that they feel deserve special recognition, and the winners will be announced at award ceremonies in Taunton and Minehead next week.
