Nominate Your Volunteer of the Year

Do you know an outstanding volunteer in Taunton and West Somerset? Then nominate them for a 2019 Volunteer of the Year Award.

Would like you to nominate your shining stars, and say ‘thanks’ to the volunteers who make a massive contribution to our local communities. Engage is inviting voluntary organisations and the general public to nominate individuals or groups who they feel deserve special recognition.

Engage has hosted Volunteers’ Week celebrations in Taunton Deane and West Somerset for a number of years. This year, whilst the award categories will reflect the two areas, there will be a single awards ceremony at Halsway Manor, near Crowcombe, on Friday 7th June.

Volunteers’ Week 2018

This year’s theme for National Volunteers’ Week centres around ‘Volunteering for all – a celebration of the huge range of people who give time in so many ways.’

It’s the perfect opportunity for Somerset’s VCSE sector to celebrate, and say a big thank you to those who give up their time, energy and skills to help others. From trustees and campaigners, to carers and tin-shakers, this is a great time to think about the great contribution all your volunteers make, and how to celebrate people from every walk of life who are getting involved.

Spark supports the voluntary sector in South Somerset, Mendip and Sedgemoor. This year, they have produced a special video campaign to celebrate the power of volunteering, and the great work being done by volunteers across the county. They will be sharing this via their social media channels throughout Volunteers’ Week, so check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

Engage supports the voluntary sector in Taunton and West Somerset, and will once again hold their popular Star Volunteer Awards during Volunteers Week. They have invited voluntary organisations and the members of the public to nominate the people and groups that they feel deserve special recognition, and the winners will be announced at award ceremonies in Taunton and Minehead next week.
